Prepare the Chicken:
Season the Chicken: Pat the chicken dry and season both sides with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder.
Sear the Chicken: Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the chicken and cook for 4-5 minutes per side until golden brown. Remove from the skillet and set aside.
Prepare the Creamy Ranch Sauce:
Melt the Butter: In the same skillet, melt the butter over medium heat.
Add Chicken Broth: Pour in the chicken broth and scrape up any browned bits from the bottom of the pan.
Add Creamy Ingredients: Stir in the heavy cream and sour cream, mixing well until smooth.
Season the Sauce: Add dried parsley, dill, chives, garlic powder, onion powder, and paprika. Stir to combine.
Combine and Cook:
Return Chicken to the Pan: Add the seared chicken back into the skillet, coating it with the creamy ranch sauce.
Simmer: Reduce heat to low and let the chicken simmer for 10-15 minutes, until fully cooked and the sauce thickens.
Optional Cheese Addition: If using cheese, sprinkle shredded cheddar over the chicken and let it melt into the sauce.
Serve and Garnish:
Garnish and Serve: Sprinkle with fresh parsley and extra cheese if desired. Serve hot.
